Our popular Photography for Parents course comes to Third Door to help you learn how to get the most of your camera and capture the special moments in your family's life.
Delivered by the talented children's photographer Katia Muscara, the course is a hugely practical, hands-on workshop where you get practicing straight away!
What will you learn?
- you will learn all about your camera - what it does, how it does it and more importantly: how to make it do what you want it to do ( capture running children or a gorgeous moody portrait). No more being scared by cryptic buttons and strange numbers coming up on your camera screen.
- you will get to see light like you have never seen it before and learn how to make it your best friend in your photographic practice
- you will start CREATING and COMPOSING photographs rather than just snapping away hoping that 1 in a 100 will be good enough
- you will learn how to best capture your child, whatever their age - have we mentioned the instructor is an accomplished children's photographer with lots of inside knowledge to share?
- and above all : you will change the way you take photographs forever. There will be no going back.

- You will need to have a DSLR camera or a good bridge camera ( compact camera with manual settings : A, S or Av, Tv - if you're not sure, call us, we can advise you)
How is the course structured?
To make the course work best for the Third Door community, we have adjusted it slightly, compared to our standard, general public courses.
The course is spread over 4 weekly, 2h long classes. Each class will comprise of a theory section, followed by practical exercises. The theory section will take place in the Third Door office and for the practice part, we will take you out to a nearby park. For the theory part, your children can be cared for at the Third Door nursery, you will be able to check them out and take them with you for the practice part. After each session, you will be assigned some homework to help you practice your skills further, and you'll receive personal feedback and advice on your photos from Katia.
